Summary: List Coder is free because anonymized usage data funds model training. We are transparent. Offline mode never sends your code to our servers. You choose cloud or local. See full details at docs.list-coder.com/docs/legal/privacy.
When you use List Coder IDE, Omni or CLI, we collect: account info (email, name via OAuth), telemetry (feature usage, latency, error logs), and code snippets you explicitly allow for training when you accept the free tier terms. Offline local models (SmolLM2, Qwen2.5-Coder) run 100% on your device and do not transmit code. Cloud model requests send minimal context needed for completion. We never sell personal identity; anonymized patterns are used to improve models.
To provide autocomplete, agents, Composer and to train List-3.0-Ultra-Coder and related models. We aggregate and de-identify before training. Enterprise self-hosted deployments can opt out of telemetry sharing via admin controls.
Telemetry retained for 12 months for model improvement, then aggregated. We apply SOC 2-aligned controls, encryption in transit and at rest, and access logging. See /security and /.well-known/security.txt.
Use offline mode for zero data sharing, or choose enterprise self-hosted for full data residency. Free tier requires anonymized sharing as trade-off for $0 access to frontier models. You can request export or deletion via List-Enterprise@outlook.com. We respond within 30 days.
